Gateway FPD1975W 19″ Widescreen High-Definition LCD Flat-Panel Display Review

I bought this monitor recently used from a private seller. I was looking for an additional monitor to run along side my normal LCD; since this was a secondary monitor I was not looking for anything spectacular so limited my selection to used ones. Thus far I have been extremely impressed with the quality of the display (even after 2 years of use by the prior owner)! The colors are much brighter than on my primary monitor and no dead/stuck pixels or distortion. It truly is a plug n’ play monitor so as long as your video card supports the 1440×900 resolution then you are good to go. Initially I searched for drivers for the monitor and could not find anything out there other than the Gateway supplied EZTune software. I contacted Gateway technical support about the possibility of just a driver download and within 12 hours I had an email response stating that there was no need for the drivers. The EZTune software (which I have no use for) simply gives you easier ways to calibrate the monitor attributes like color, brightness, contrast, etc. At present I have no use for it so I have not downloaded or installed it. A little research on the software has shown that there may be some issues with it so I have not bothered pursuing it since the monitor is fine just the way it is!

Select an ultra-portable notebook computer for their needs

March 29, 2010 Leave a comment

When you choose a laptop, portability is often an essential characteristic. If you travel frequently with your laptop in a laptop on planes and along the unit weight (or lack of weight makes it very important). Surely no one wants to be a ten-pound monster of a laptop kart and a car or an airport, in addition to everything you have incurred.

Keep in mind when buying an ultra-portable laptop:

Ø Price

Or functions

Or weightMore Gear

Battery life or

The prices are steeper, with smaller models of notebook computers, and must be augmented with processing power and features including a DVD / CD-RW drive for data storage and playback, and a little 'entertainment during long journeys. The typical notebook computer packs enough punch to manage wireless networks and all basic features) (such as word processing and other simple programs, just like your desktop PC. It is also necessaryattention for mobile laptops that require additional equipment. Charger and other cables and accessories must be considered in weight if the weight is in fact the problem for you. Battery life varies with the performance of the processor, in order to check the battery life in any reviews to read.

Best Laptop

Or Sony VAIO VGN-TX770P

O Toshiba Portege R200

O Averatec 1000

O Dell Latitude X1

Laptop manufacturers have seen the future and are in aDesign to create the war, most of the phones and notebook computers smaller. Reviews of products are made, the Sony VAIO VGN-TX770P quite firmly at the top of the list, and a weight of just under three pounds, is certainly acceptable. The VAIO has a great battery life, which is important, but also one of the most expensive ultra-portable laptops available.

The Toshiba Portege is a bit 'on the expensive side, but was designed with speed and performance for business travelers without the bellsand pipes. The Portege does not have an internal CD / DVD, but keeps it weighs just over two pounds and a half.

The Averatec 1000 has a shorter battery life than the competition, but also has a much lower price. And 'the heaviest of laptops listed, weighing three pounds, and is the most hard disk with 80GB.

The last laptop we mentioned the Dell Latitude X1, which is at 2.5 pounds light, and has good battery life. Lacks a PC CardSlot and an internal optical drive, but for all the light travel is certainly worth a look.

Components to Think About
There are several key elements of a portable computer that should be considered before purchase. This is important because it is difficult if not impossible, to upgrade many of these components in notebook computers. The main components are:

Or CPU (Central Processing Unit)

O Hard Drive

or RAM (Random Active Memory)

or Screen Size

O PortTypes

Or optical drive (CD, CD-RW and DVD-RW)

or removable media (like a camera's memory card)

Or batteries

O Video Card

O Touch Sensitive Mouse Pad

or wireless capabilities

The CPU or Central Processing Unit, is not upgradeable in most laptops. The CPU is supplied with high enough in most laptops, which commercially, without the extra chip is expensive. If you plan to watch videos or play, but you need a computerwith a faster processor. The most important factors of the processors in laptops is the balance between processor performance and battery consumption and heat dissipation (less heat, the better).

The hard drive is upgradeable in a unique way: If for some strange twist of fate you are unable to fill the 60 GB, since these features music with laptops, you can temporarily store your portable flash drive additional material. Portable flash drives are thinner than a pencil, just enougha USB port and can be shorter than the thumb of a man. A single GB is very convenient, and up to ten GB for a lot of money available. Unless you work a lot with digital media, but this should not become a necessity.

The RAM is upgradeable in laptops, and is always a good investment to access the RAM pack. RAM is what stores the data that are running programs that will help them to continue to play well.

The screen size is fixed for the most part, that is, shouldtaken into consideration for the purchase of a laptop. A smaller screen is harder to read, but if portability is too big hit. Fifteen-inch (diagonal) is relatively normal for a balance between the size and resolution. A large screen or large screen is useful for watching DVDs or other storage media.

The type of connections the computer has allowed important. Most laptops come standard with up to four USB ports, using the most common types of port today. IfYou have an older mouse that you intend to use with your laptop, you must purchase a USB adapter. USB connections make it much easier to connect peripheral devices.

The optical drive is a simple choice. If you do not want to use a CD player in all its variations, you can find a small laptop for your use. When can save your data is important to at least look at a system with a CD-RW. If you have a backup of large amounts of data you are looking for a laptop with DVD-RW. ThisOption, the system will become more difficult and more expensive. Some laptops have a place to insert the memory card directly into the computer photo for quick access. This is only important that, if the photograph is a part of your work.

The batteries used in laptops now very similar. The size of the battery is less important than the amount of processing power, it sucks. If your laptop uses a lot of power, look to buy a replacement battery, so that you can change themwhen the current falls too low.

The graphics card is not upgradable, so be sure that if you're going to play or high intensity of a lot of films that have a stronger card to be seen. For the average business traveler, but the card that comes standard is quite powerful.

Most laptops come with a touch-sensitive mouse pad. Try it if fairly easy to see, use, and if you need extra help, then you buy a mouse. Remember that your mouse toand mouse pad with travel.

Last consideration is the wireless capabilities. For a business traveler, it is often too important to the wireless network and connect to the Internet wirelessly, if the opportunities arise. Centrino processor or an internal wireless LAN (Local Area Network) card, you can connect the connection.

I hope this guide has been thinking a bit 'on the laptop before you buy your next ultra-portable.

Tips for choosing The Right Notebook Computer

March 28, 2010 Leave a comment

These days it is very common to see people that their notebook computers with them wherever they go. As you can very easily and do the work, the transition is less an argument. It can be confusing, but to find out what you should buy because the market is saturated with various brands and models of laptops.

Before going to write and look at the laptops, what are your needs. This will help you refine your selection. How willbe, with a laptop with you? If you plan to use often when you go to work or other activities that you want a longer battery life with and that is very easy. They also want a good, with a guarantee if it is damaged.

The screen size is important. There's nothing more frustrating than trying to get to work on a screen that is so small that what you are trying to achieve with him too distracted to be completed. Thinking about the different functions that you need to go,for your notebook. It makes no sense to pay for features you do not all use. Some of the options available include a memory card and a floppy disk.

It 'very important, the amount of RAM for your notebook, you need to check. Certainly do not want the amount of work you can perform on it, because you do not have enough memory to be limited.

If you are all components of a laptop, you must first have a look at the answeron the market that offer such products. You can compare prices and read consumer feedback to help you make the right purchase.

March 27, 2010 Leave a comment

Computers can have several types of memory problems, contains one of the most important factors in the functioning of the computer. All the data necessary for the operation of the memory slot of your computer. It 'always difficult to find a memory problem, if it appears no error message in Windows. A memory problem is not caused by a physical problem with your computer, or sometimes due to improper maintenance and clearing the old filesleads to a stage where the landfill at Windows startup.

A problem with the memory of the computer may stop responding and give some serious errors and blue screens. Sometimes the system does not recognize the installed memory. Serious memory problems can be found quickly, such as checks BIOS memory before booting the computer. If there is a serious mistake, the computer does not boot just a blank screen and a computer. The problems can bememory, but there is a greater likelihood that the registry is the main reason for the landfill. If there is no corrupted data, there is a high probability that it will not be the answer, which may appear a blue screen that initially says dump of physical memory. This can cause the computer's memory module to fail. Some effects of these missing data or encrypted, the system often crashes and restarts every time on his own. Registry and system files could be lost dueThese are the window to produce the memory of the RAM to a file. Dump of memory is useful because it stores data and information about the incident and may be useful for the analysis to take what the system crash.

There is almost everything you can do if there is a problem of computer memory, other than a change in the physical part that is damaged, and try to fix with Registry Cleaner.

So what can you do to avoid problems, the computer memory, buy memoryEquipment of good quality, not the mixing of memory modules from different manufacturers, to keep your computer in a positive environment that is free is free from dust, moisture and extreme heat that can damage the physical components of the computer. Keep your computer against Extremes in backup power. Spending little time for maintenance of the computer can not do very well, which will include the benefits and problems of computers for free.

Registry Cleaner ismuch better choice, because it is free to download. You can see free scan to determine if the real problems are in the registry. You need to purchase, any problems that may be a better choice, because the store is more expensive than the correction of the software. Another advantage is that you can avoid to keep the registry in memory problem to lie in the future.

I bet you think that the second option is more sensible and wise move. If you do not want to see a blue screen,Death or a message at the beginning of physical memory dump, check out the problem of computer memory for details, he says.
