First off you can buy this monitor for around 200.00 in several places, I paid 150.00. The clarity in the monitor is very good BUT if you do your connections with HDMI the Vista sound will not play and there is a crackling sound in the speakers. HP acknowledged there is a firmware issue within the monitor but cd’s, tv etc all work fine. If you connect with the conventional speaker wire and vga cable it works just fine. For the money it is a great monitor. I personally like the glossy finish on the screen, some may not

HP 2009M 20-Inch HD LCD Monitor Review

I’ve had this monitor for about 7 months and I love it. I’m a student and use this as an adjunct display w/ my laptop primarily for going over PowerPoint lectures, reading articles, and surfing the web.

The monitor is bright and crisp, has zero dead pixels, and the widescreen format comes in handy when I have multiple windows open or when I just want to read a document in super large font to give my eyes a break. The 1600×900 native resolution is not the highest among widescreen monitors out there, but I think it strikes a good balance by giving me the extra space I need without forcing me to squint really heard to read text.

As others have said, the built-in speakers aren’t great: they have really limited low freq range as you can expect with speakers of this size. Mid and higher ranges sound good to me. One of the reasons I bought this monitor was because I have limited desk space and having built-in speakers was a selling point. This monitor has really met that need for me. I haven’t really had any problems with it being too quiet; these speakers can actually get decently loud without distortion.

Setup is easy, on-screen menus are straightforward. This monitor is highly recommended.

Monitor arrived in good shape, with supplier foam packing, not the manufacturer packing. This type of packing is probably better than the manufacturer (and more expensive). This is the type where foam is injected into bags, which expands and fills the box. Delivery was prompt.

Monitor itself is fine. No damage that I’ve found. Works great.

I am satisfied with this supplier.

The only minor down side is that the color is not the same as same monitor model which I purchased earlier. It’s substantially different. I’ve verified all the monitor menu settings are identical. I’ve swapped the video cable between monitors – the color difference stays with the monitor, does not move with the cable. So it’s not due to the video card. The firmware versions are different, so it’s possible the “color calibration table” in the firmware is different. I’ll just calibrate the monitors someday so that they look the same. I’ll try the HP calibration on their website first.

That is an HP/monitor issue, not a supplier issue. If I’d originally purchased two at the same time, there probably would not have been any difference.

BTW, I really like the monitor clips that HP sells. . I use the clips to hold my reading glasses and headset.
